3 Last Minute Mother’s Day Gifts
Initially, this post was going to be a chit chat post, updating you guys on what’s happened the last few days and talking a little bit about Turkey, where I’m headed for a short vacation this Thursday. However, while baking my mom’s favourite treat earlier this morning, I thought of all the times I wanted to make an effort and bake these scones for her, but didn’t. Life often is a little stressful and we tend to go for the easy gifts, like hand-made looking cards and a super cute jar of cookies with that perfect ribbon on it, slightly too perfect. One thinks buying something ready is easier and maybe even better than the things one could craft at home. But if I learned one thing by now, it’s that my mom will always prefer an imperfect gift made by me than any store bought, bouquet of flowers or a jar of “home-made” cookies. So I sat down and thought of 3 easy, not-to-plan-for ways how you can thank your mom for being awesome!
No. 1: Easy Bake
I’m sure anyone’s got flour at home, some baking powder and maybe even a couple of eggs. No matter what you at home, I’m sure you’ll find a recipe that you won’t to make an extra grocery tour for. And here comes the trick, on this website here you can search recipes by the ingredients you have at home!
No. 2: Music – The Art of the Soul
I don’t know about your mom, but my mom still listens to CD’s and she usually doesn’t have the time to sit down and prepare a nice playlist to listen to while driving in the car or just at home. It can be a Soundcloud playlist for the modern moms or just a CD with tracks your mom likes to listen, too. I’m sure she’ll love it!
No. 3 Spontaneous Adventure
This is always the best idea. Why? Because there’s nothing more precious to our moms than us spending time with them. It can be as simple as having some ice cream at a cute café or more adventurous by taking here to a nearby mountain, lake or forest. Maybe you might even take her out to dinner after? Or you hop on the bike and the two of you make a little tour?
Whether you bake your mom a special treat, show her some love with a nice playlist or just spend the day with her, these 3 gifts are easy, thoughtful and so variable. Anyone can do it!
