Best of 2016 – Thank You!
Wow, what an amazing journey. You know, sometimes I wonder why I still blog and today is one of those times. To be honest, it consumes a hell lot of time and I barely get paid in return. Don’t get me wrong, even being able to do sponsored posts (disregarding the many crappy e-mails that land in my inbox on a daily basis), is awesome! I never could have imagined earning even the tiniest bit of money with a hobby. But still, it’s not a lot if I would calculate my earnings on an hourly basis. But enough of that blogger complaining and on to the reason why I’m still loving and doing it. When I think about it, blogging is the only diary I’ve been keeping religiously, even if I wasn’t in the mood for it. Just as in this very moment (where I’m procrastinating studying finance hardcore) blogging, or keeping my diary in this sense, has become one of my happy places I’m always willing to escape to.
Contemplating 2016, I realised how special t his year has been to me, not only because I was able to do great stuff with the blog like going to Berlin with Zalando, but also because I have been travelling to so many different places, I can’t even count (okay, that’s a lie): Munich, Amsterdam, Istanbul, Antalya, Thailand (Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Koh Tao, Koh Lipe), Malaysia (Georgetown, Kuala Lumpur), Berlin, Lisbon, Porto, Azores Islands and last but not least, freaking Mexico (Mexico City, Oaxaca City and Mazunte). And the greatest thing about all these travels is, most of them I’ve realised on my very own, by working my ass off as a waitress (which I absolutely hate, honestly, I would prefer being a cleaning lady than serving snobbish people at stupid events) and through the blog. But when I say blog, I need to thank you guys. Thank you for following, thank you for this amazing time and thank you for making me keep this diary, so I can always look back.
PS:this is what I found in this year’s archive, let’s see what 2017 will bring along!
December, Mexico City
September, Azores Islands
July, Koh Lipe
July, Kuala Lumpur
June, Lake of Constance
