Black Vest Dress Styled Chic
Finding your own style can be a tricky thing; especially in these days, where we are consciously or subconsciously influenced by hundreds of images a day. In that respect, focusing on being nothing but the best version of yourself is becoming more and more difficult. Recently, I’ve come to realize, that I, too, had been confused by social media and my personal style integrity had been compromised through the blogosphere. I didn’t feel comfortable in my own skin anymore and I felt like I was trying to be someone I wasn’t, and the worst of all, I wasn’t even trying to be anyone specific, instead, I tried to be everything and everyone at the same time. You might wonder where I’m going with this confusing introduction, but no worries, I’ll enlight you in just a second.
It’s been a few months since I’ve came to understand that the more I tried to not look like myself, the worse I looked. Ever since, I’ve tried to come closer to my natural self again, meaning loving my naturally brown hair, fair skin and slightly slanted eyes. I got rid of my ombre hair, I stopped wearing colors that did not complement my skin tone or wearing too much make-up in general. I also got back to my senses with regards to my wardrobe. As a matter of fact, I’ve always been dressing a tad to elegant for my age, but that’s exactly how I like it and how I always did. Some girls might look good with ripped jeans and a crop top, I look better with a white shirt and some elegant booties, or at least, I feel more comfortable with them.
Now, I’m excited to be collaborating with About You again, to show you how the most simple dress can transform in two completely different looks. Do you sometimes fear, too, that simple outfits or pieces will look boring? Well, I do fear that a lot, because I hate nothing more than to look the same every day. It only makes sense that if you own less colors and prints, that you’re outfits resemble each other more, right? Well, thy don’t have to. This post is all about this simple black vest dress, which I dressed up with some over-the-knee boots and an oversized blazer to create this sophisticated look. In the second part of this post, I’d like to show you more relaxed, day look. I personally really like this piece, it’s very elegant, super versatile and super minimal. What do you think?
